The Central American Refugee Committee (CRECE) of Oakland

CRECE, a transnational organization based in Oakland and El Salvador is YEP's primary partner, conneting its soccer program to YEP's youth empowerment program. This is truly a match made in heaven as CRECE has been working in the community since 1990, having strong community networks, while YEP is a relatively new program with a fresh set of ideas and programs for youth empowerment. By combining soccer with youth empowerment, we have built the Domingo de Desarrollo program, an award-winning program that brings educational resources, health information, and community building activities to the East Oakland Latinx community on a monthly basis.

Novartis Institues for Biomedical Research

Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research has been an excellent partner in an annual event we hold called the Young Scientists Training Day. During this event, at-risk youth from East Oakland have the incredible chance to tour the Novartis labs in Emeryville, perform kid-friendly experiments, and talk with scientists who are leading the field in ground-breaking microbiology and protein sciences research.

The Sierra Club: Inspiring Connections Outdoors

The Sierra Club's ICO program has partnered with YEP to expose East Oakland youth and their parents to local parks and recreational spaces, stressing the importance of the environment and the accessibility of nature. Events include hikes and camping days, all of which include a health amount of exercise and community building activities!

The Spanish Speaking Citizens' Foundation

With over fifty years working in the community, the Spanish Speaking Citizens' Foundation is a true role model for sustainability and commitment. We have partnered with SSCF on a variety of events and activities including an event during which we featured the film "A Place in the Middle" and dialogued with parents and youth about bullying and respecting LGBTQ youth.
